There are some neat features coming to Microsoft Teams, Outlook on the Web and SharePoint Online!
Official Support for Custom Backgrounds Coming to Teams meetings
As per Roadmap ID 63666, Teams will allow users to upload their own custom images as their meeting background. This is expected to rollout starting mid-May.
New Feature for Outlook on the Web: Suggested Text
Sometimes emails just need to write themselves. As per Roadmap ID 63795, Outlook on the Web will soon see text predictions as you type.
This will be rolled out to Targeted Release customers by the end of May 2020. Everyone else will see this feature rollout later, but there is no concrete timeline for that yet.
"Send Later" feature coming to Outlook on the Web
Timing is everything, and email is no exception. Starting in early May, Targeted Release customers will be seeing a "Send Later" feature in Outlook on the Web as per Roadmap ID 63665. Of course, you may already have this feature in the Outlook desktop apps for Windows and MacOS.
This rollout is expended to be rolled out worldwide by the end of June.
End back-to-back meetings in Outlook on the Web
Lots of neat little features for Outlook on the Web this week! Here's one that you can use to add some space in your calendar.
As per Roadmap ID 63384, we will be able to add some buffer time in-between their meetings from the Calendar settings in Outlook on the Web. If you are using a current version of Outlook for Windows, you will likely have this feature already.
This one will be rolling out to Standard Release Customers in mid-May and is expended to finish rolling out by late July.
Schedule pages and new posts in SharePoint
SharePoint content authors rejoice! You will soon be able to schedule a date & time for your news posts and pages to be published.
This feature will be rolling out to Targeted Release customers starting in late May and finish by early June. There's current no date for Standard Release customers at this time, so sit tight!
